(I was a bad hostess and didn’t personally get any pictures of Melissa or the shower.. so here are a few I had to borrow!!)
Here are a few photos from the dessert table, that Melissa’s sister Sharissa took! Thanks Reese!
On the menu: Quiche, brie and cheese, candy, cake, chocolate croissants, sparkling lemonade, and favored water. We had homemade crepes with strawberries & whip cream, nutella & banana and lemon, butter & sugar! Thank you everyone for your help!!!
This weekend I got to see a bunch of people I love. I threw a french themed baby shower for one of my best friends. In 7th grade (18 years ago?!) I told her I wouldn’t ditch her as a best friend.. our freshman year in high school I took French class with her because I thought it would be fun. By our Junior year, we went to France together with our French Club. In college she was an au pair in France for a summer, and I later went back to volunteer in dentistry in the french countryside. After college she introduced to me to Troy, three years later we took our husbands to Europe with us. After many metro rides, crepes and pastries together, it seemed right to have a Paris baby shower for her second baby girl!! Here is a bit more French inspiration!!!
School will be starting soon. Enjoy one of the last weekends of the summer. Lemonade, fruit and lounging outside! Happy Friday!
Here is some sugar to get you through your Thursday.. the weekend is almost here… and I can’t wait to spend it with some of my best friends:-) I loved the vintage travel sweet event here.. captured by the very talented Stephanie Williams… you’re going to love it!

Happy Monday! We have been doing lots of letterpress printing as of late. I wanted to share a vintage, grey, glamorous palette. It’s a sophisticated look, that is makes for a timeless wedding! Hope you have a great day!

Tired of monochromatic weddings.. where everywhere you look you see the same shade of hot pink!? Variegation in colors gives a more sophisticated feel. As a bride, you won’t so trapped into perfectly matching everything against your pantone color swatch. I love this variegated emerald green and teal combination. Perfect for a whimsical garden wedding, with a touch of vintage details.

Stephanie Williams aboveLong summer days, mean lots of sunshine. I love the warm glow and the varied shades of gold at different points of a warm summer day. Everything looks just so fresh and inviting. Summer is such a wonderful time to get married.
With warmer days, you can events outside, you can choice lighter foods and more refreshing drinks. Fresh, seasonal produce along with frozen cocktails or Popsicles are very popular. No matter how much you may love the sun, remember guests will want a few ways to escape the heat. Find ways to provide shade and lots of water. I’ve been to more than one wedding where I felt I was melting in the sun waiting for the ceremony to start. Bottle water in tubs of ice would have been a lifesaver!!
